POSITION DESCRIPTION>

The Learning Circle Childcare Centres is committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment that supports the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of our students. As a mixed early education provider, we are seeking a Responsible Adult to provide care and mature guidance to children in our community care facility. The Responsible Adult will be responsible for creating a safe and nurturing environment, interacting with children to encourage their participation in activities, and working collaboratively with coworkers, management, and family members. We are looking for a dependable, enthusiastic, and warm-hearted person who is passionate about working with children and meets the qualifications set out by the British Columbia childcare regulations. Job Title: Responsible Adult Teacher

Full/Part Time: Full Time 

Regular/Temporary: Regular 

Hours: Varies within the hours of 7:30 am and 5:30 pm 

Wage: Ranges between $17 per hour - $19 per hour dependent on certification and experience; Please note that this range is EXCLUDING the $4 BC Wage Enhancement which will be received by candidates for each hour worked.

Responsibilities

• Creating a safe and supportive environment that promotes children's well-being.

• Interacting with children to encourage their participation in activities and ensure their needs are met.

• Developing positive and collaborative relationships with coworkers, management, and family members.

• Attending staff meetings and professional development opportunities as required.

• Maintaining cleanliness and organization of classroom materials and equipment.

• Walking students to & from the local elementary school

• Assisting RECEs with classroom instruction and activities.

• Other responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

• A responsible adult, a person must:

  • be at least 19 years of age,

  • be able to provide care and mature guidance to children,

  • have completed a course, or a combination of courses, of at least 20 hours duration in child development, guidance, health and safety, or nutrition, and

  • have relevant work experience.

• Valid Emergency Childcare First Aid certificate that meets the requirements of BC child care license regulations.
