Providing a higher standard of early education and care since 1992.
We Are Different!
We are a different kind of early learning child care facility.
Since 1992, we’ve been taking shape, moving toward a special kind of care & education. With respect for our children and with TLC’s unique holistic curriculum, we find this harmonious approach creates a great environment for learning.
- We inspire, rather than demand.
- We invite, rather than insist.
- We let them learn and discover the way our children
- We nurture them and keep them safe, and allow them to
Our atmosphere is lively and full of love. We provide a balance of care, education, physical fitness and nutrition.
Our children, teachers, and parents are all pieces of the puzzle of this community we’re building. We are different. We are unique. We are special just like our children.
The Learning Circle is proud to offer high quality care and educational services for the children in our communities.
We strive to inspire a sense of worth and belonging in all our children, families and staff. In partnership with the family, we provide exposure to young students to a range of educational experiences in the most nurturing, creative and educationally innovative environment and under the guidance of our dedicated team of staff.
The Learning Circle’s philosophy is a dedication of care and education for the whole child. Our programs, our curriculum, our environment, and our team are dedicated to empowering children to reach their highest potential.

The Goals Of Our Curriculum
The most important goal of our early childhood curriculum is to help children become enthusiastic learners. This means surrounding children with a rich learning environment that will encourage them to be creative explorers.
Our goal is to help children become independent, self-confident, inquisitive learners. We are teaching them that acquiring new knowledge is fun and that education enriches our lives.
OUR TEACHING TEAM
At TLC, we believe that the teaching team is the cornerstone for implementing our mission and philosophy. Our Teachers create a caring and nurturing atmosphere that fosters each child’s creativity and positive self-image.
OUR TEACHING TEAM
Our Innovative Approach To Early Education
The Learning Circle thrives on being innovative and we know the key to our success is our services and communication with our families. We are one of the first to apply the himama app in 2014 which enables us to engage parents with digital daily sheets, pictures, videos and educational information so our parents never miss their child's daily development.
SAFETY AND SECURITY
At The Learning Circle our first priority is your child’s safety. Have you ever wondered why jewelry stores have more security than our child care facilities? You need to trust the child care facility you choose to keep your child safe and therefore we have a few security features - time clock and security cameras.
Time Clock - Upon registration, you will be given a personal access code which not only ensures your child is in our system but we can ensure unauthorized personnel are not entering your child's facility.
Security Cameras - All Learning Circle locations are equipped with cameras for internal purposes only. We do not allow strangers to watch your child while in care. At any time Parents are able to request camera footage where they can view this information within the facility only.
Our children cannot be replaced like jewelry and therefore safety & security systems is just one part of how The Learning Circle facilities ensures your child's safety.
Our Founder & President
As I sit here in my office and think about what I would like you to know about myself and our Learning Circle Childcare Early Learning Campuses; I see this silver picture frame with a drawing of Hayley & me.
At age 5, Hayley drew this picture of us in 1992 and spelled my name with three 'a's, and all I can do is smile from ear to ear, as my eyes fill with joy. It reminds me of where this all began.
Do you recall your favorite teacher? Sometimes we don’t remember their name but we do remember how that teacher made us feel. I recall a teacher that believed in me and made me feel like I mattered. I knew from a very early age that I was going to be a teacher. I knew that teaching would give me the opportunity to make a difference and it wasn’t going to be what I did during circle time but rather how I made the child feel.
This is the value of the teacher, who looks at a face and says there's something behind that and I want to reach that person, I want to influence that person, I want to encourage that person, I want to enrich, I want to call out that person who is behind that face, behind that color, behind that language, behind that tradition, behind that culture. I believe you can do it. I know what was done for me.
My passion has always been creating an environment where children can be nurtured, grow with respect and be educated at their own developmental level. With over 24 years in the child care industry I feel it is time to share the knowledge, my compassion and experience with others. It’s time to move forward with the growth of the company and help others achieve their goal. The Learning Circle provides one of a kind facilities with the most unique programs and curriculum.
May 1992 a licensed family daycare was created with 10 children in the basement of a home in Coquitlam when opportunity knocked from the City of Coquitlam.
I was chosen out of many applicants to provide a child care facility in the Coquitlam Town Center Park Stadium. The Rec Room Kids Club was born in 1998 and expanded into Nestor Elementary school in 2000. When the City of Coquitlam determined that changes were necessary for the Town Center Park Stadium to provide more green space and athletic facilities to our growing community, change was literally at my doorstep. Although we had spent 9 great years at the Town Center, it was time to find a new home. April 2007 Lincoln location was established.
The Rec Room Kids Club name no longer suited our excellent services, quality care, and educational-based programs and therefore the name change was needed.
The circle is a universal symbol with extensive meaning and commonly representing unity, wholeness, infinity / limitless, without a beginning or end, and without sides or corners. Circles are often seen as a protective symbol.
The Learning Circle is a true reflection of our ever growing company, ideas, opportunities, and vision. TLC is quality care, educational based, and community-driven!
Do you know the saying, "you don't know what you have, until it is gone". In the short time frame of five months, I tragically lost both of my parents. At the age of 23, I realized very quickly how much of an influence my parents really were in my life and how much they gave me, taught me & encouraged me.
If I can give you something today by reading my message, it would be either: appreciate people in your life or realize what an influence you have on your children. I never realized this until it was too late. This is why I dedicate our campuses to my parents and all families that attend.
My goal is to build strong and well mannered children that have good morals and values about themselves, as my parents gave me. Although I keep my mom & dad close in my heart, I have to admit I have the biggest family anyone could ever ask for. The Learning Circle Campuses are truly my extended family and for this, I am grateful.
If you are looking for a place where you can feel both comfortable and happy knowing your children and well taken care of, learning and having fun, we would welcome the chance to meet you and your family.
TO MY PARENTS WHO GAVE ME VALUES
To my mother, I thank you for being dedicated to our family and always being there for me.

Parents are such a part of who we are today. My parents did the best they knew how and that is why I dedicate The Learning Circle to them and all those who attend.
