POSITION DESCRIPTION>
Senior Educator/Manager for Foundations 3 - Pathfinders (Half Day Class) & Foundations 4 - Emerging Leaders (Preschool & Out of School Care), you will oversee and manage the daily operations of the classroom for children in half-day and full-day programs, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment that fosters the growth and development of young children. You will work collaboratively with a team of educators to plan and implement age-appropriate activities and lesson plans, observe and document children's development, and communicate regularly with families about their children's progress. You will be responsible for complying with all BC Licensing regulations and standards, and for providing leadership, guidance, and mentorship to your team.
We are looking for a dependable, enthusiastic, and warm-hearted person who is passionate about working with children and committed to their ongoing learning and development. The successful candidate should have experience working with young children and possess strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage a team of educators.

Job Title: Senior Educator - Preschool & Before and After School Class
Full/Part Time: Full Time
Regular/Temporary: Regular
Hours: Varies within the hours of 7:30 am and 5:30 pm
Wage: Ranges between $20 per hour - $22 per hour dependent on certification and experience; Please note that this range is EXCLUDING the $4 BC Wage Enhancement which will be received by candidates for each hour worked.

Responsibilities

Manage daily operations of the classroom.

Supervise and coordinate staff, trainees, and volunteers.

Assist in onboarding and training of new employees.

Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.

Maintain daycare equipment, order supplies and equipment as required.

Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children.

Have knowledge of BC Daycare and Licensing regulations.

Utilize strong computer skills for implementing lesson planning, communicating with parents, and using childcare software applications for communication purposes, tracking student milestones & development.

Walking students to & from the local elementary school

Providing staff meetings and professional development opportunities for their team

Yoga experience or knowledge is an asset.

Knowledge of French, Spanish, and Sign Language is an asset.
Qualifications
-
Valid BC Early Childhood Educator License.

Valid Emergency Childcare First Aid certificate that meets the requirements of BC child care license regulations.

2-3 years of experience as an Early Childhood Educator

At least 1 year of experience in managing staff and working in a leadership role.

Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office, Google Drive, and childcare software applications.
